All about the restoration of my 1956 Buick Special, and the fun that comes with it!
It’s time once again for the biggest car show in America! Hot August Nights is right around the corner, and I think we’re all getting ready for the action. This year is expected to be awesome as usual, so don’t miss any of the great events that are planned.
For anyone who isn’t familiar with Hot August Nights, it’s a giant week-long car show that spans three different cites in Northern Nevada: Reno, Sparks, and South Lake Tahoe. Also, the action get’s warmed up in Carson City with the Silver Dollar Classic the week before. You can our little events lineup for the Silver Dollar Classic here.
The events include:
The official Hot August Nights events kickoff in South Lake Tahoe on July 25, 2014. I know, it’s not even August, but who cares! The events in Tahoe run Friday and Saturday (July 25-26), and are primarily held on Ski Run Boulevard and at the Heavenly Village.
The main events begin in Reno/Sparks on Friday July 27, 2014. The Reno/Sparks events run from Sunday the 27th to the following Sunday, August 3rd. There are far too many events in Reno/Sparks to list out, and it covers two cities for a whole week. All the events are listed on the Hot August Nights website, and you can see all the events that are planned for Reno/Sparks as well as South Lake Tahoe in a nifty little calendar on their site.
Basically, if you are a classic car enthusiast, just head on over to Reno or Sparks, and you will find classic cars everywhere you go. Most of the big events are held at or around the casinos, including the Bonanza, Atlantis, Peppermill, Sparks Nugget, and Grand Sierra Reno.
Don’t miss the Barrett Jackson Collector Car Auction that is happening at the Reno/Sparks Convention Center, and the swap meet is at the Livestock Events Center.
